What a gift! This is a beautiful story of a woman with a mindset like no other of her time. In moments, I couldn’t put this book down, needing to know the next adventure that young Miss Jean would take. Her story then comes to America and chronicles her rise to success as a woman of our community and business owner. How lucky Hudson was to have her and to know her story.

An ideal book for those who love to read about post-WWII England and the development of women's power and freedom in the late 20th century and the emerging 21st century. The book takes readers from London and its environs to Hudson, Massachusetts, with memorable stops on each continent and adventures along the way. There are even a few circus acts! Miss Jean, as she is respectfully called by generations of students of dance and acrobatics, is a Renaissance woman, always ahead of her time. 
The author skillfully weaves highlights of Miss Jean's life with historical events and zeitgeist. Her book provides references and historical footnotes that many readers will appreciate.
I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Jean on a few social occasions and was never fully aware of her story. Thanks to "A Cuppa Tea with Miss Jean..." I have been edified and inspired.
